MY STORY

Hi, I’m Philip, Phil for short, Felipe en español.

(my last name is Polish and pronounced JAN - Caw - Ski)

I’m currently a freelance brand strategist working with an array of clients and collaborators including WILDSAM, Camp Yoshi, MINT Collective, among others. Previously I was the head of partnerships at AutoCamp and Field Station, a house of outdoor hospitality brands. Prior to that I built Blue Sky Center as their founding executive director and have consulted with Fortune 1000 brands on their CSR/social impact, cause marketing, and public relations strategies.

I combine a diverse background in brand strategy, experiential marketing and activations, design thinking, creative direction, content production, and partnerships. Through my career, I’ve harnessed the power of storytelling to forge emotional connections between organizations and their audiences. I also believe any successful life and career focuses on building durable, authentic and trusting relationships with people, doing what you say you will do, and focusing on kindness and quality above all. Leveraging a deep understanding of cultural trends and consumer behavior, I help brands and organizations move visions forward, design memorable experiences and touch points, form valuable partnerships and culture-forward campaigns, and create new narratives and storytelling strategies that reach audiences at an emotional level.

I hold a Bachelors from UC Santa Barbara and a Masters from University of Texas, Austin and believe in a habit of lifetime learning, knowing yourself, and staying curious and open to the world.

I reside in Santa Barbara, CA where I enjoy much of my free time outside — in the water and on the trails — as well as exploring meditation, yoga, photography, cooking open fire meals, trail running, reading, biking, writing, playing music and spending time with my family, partner, and our canine bodhisattva, Lou.
